Update: Groundhog Day

Posted in Groundhog, hat, holiday, Walmart at 2:14 am by nebeli

I just have to update you on B-Boy’s day as a groundhog.

This morning I took B-Boy to daycare. He wore his cute little groundhog suit and hat, so as to share the festivities with his class…. his teachers thought I was very silly, and really liked his hat. I think it was probably the first time a parent had dressed their baby as a groundhog… I know, SHOCKER!

Anyway, they were super sweet, and let me take this group photo.

I even took in the black shadow, and one of his teachers hung it on the door! These are my kind of people!

And yes, I took a picture so you could see it.

From the inside…. and the view from the hall.

Oh, and we had to stop at Walmart on the way home to pick up some things… B-Boy looked so cute in his little groundhog outfit. He must have really wanted to be seen in it because halfway through the store he started to cry. I picked him up out of his carseat carrier that we had placed in front of the shopping cart and carried him. On the way out of the store, one of the employees stopped us to say she had noticed him earlier, and how cute his outfit was.

B-Boy wished her a Happy Groundhog Day. Neb simply shook his head at what I am doing to his son… and I left thinking… my boy is almost 4 months old and is already having women hit on him at Walmart! 😉

Happy Groundhog Day!

Posted in cookies, Groundhog, holiday at 1:13 pm by nebeli

Groundhog Day is one of my favorite holidays. Why? We have created some neat traditions with it.

Every year, we make official Puxatawney Phil Spicy Groundhog cookies with my nifty groundhog cookie cutter. I got it from the official Puxatawney Phil website about 10 years ago. YUM! And we always watch the movie Groundhog Day, which I just love!

This year, Puxatawney Phil has some competition! I introduce you to Carolina B-Boy… just about the cutest groundhog ever!

This morning, he crawled out of his crib, saw his bumbo and had a seat… He then looked around and saw his shadow! Six more weeks of winter never looked so cute! 😉

I captured some more photos of this cute new groundhog, I thought I would share some more here.

I got a smile!!!!
Please don’t show this to anyone… ever!

And in case you are wondering, I did make the hat… and Neb keeps apologizing to B-Boy for letting his Mom do this to him. Of course, he thinks B-Boy looks adorably cute too!

Hmmm… What are the chances B-Boy will let me do this next year?

What do you think? I am thinking we have a new nickname… Mr. Turkey Tush! Ah, can’t you just see the slide show at his wedding rehersal dinner?
